HCAL Low Voltage System

HCAL low voltage system has very limited number of channels to monitor. Although its design is still not finalized, the basic tool that will be used is Embedded Local Monitor Box (ELMB). Therefore the initial step is to learn how to control ELMBs.

This device was developed by ATLAS collaboration for their LV monitoring needs. It is also foreseen for use in (LHC wide) project of rack control and monitoring. ATLAS DCS pages contain pointers to the quite rich documentation on ELMB.

The basic control diagram that will soon have to be tested is shown in a scheme designed during March 2001 CMS week.
